Paul Hanna

Paul is responsible for organizational governance within The Co-operators Group Limited, its subsidiaries, its board of directors and its committees. That means providing leadership on a range of corporate functions, including government relations, real estate, workplace services, legal, compliance, privacy, records management, and sustainability and citizenship.

He ensures that Co-operators delivers on its values, like tackling social and environmental issues, and promoting a healthy co-operative system across the country. Day to day, he works to strengthen business and governance relationships among member organizations, to help them achieve a greater community impact. Internally, Paul oversees Co-operators national real estate footprint to optimize the staff experience, and provides leadership to ensure operational and privacy compliance across the organization’s regulated entities.

Paul co-sponsored the Future of Work Program, aimed at strengthening workforce capabilities. He also founded the Mental Wellness Project Accelerator, in partnership with Enactus Canada, and is a board member for the International Cooperative and Mutual Insurance Federation (ICMIF) Americas and for The Co-operators Community Funds. He also serves on the University of Guelph’s Advisory Committee to the Lang School of Business.

Paul is a Chartered Insurance Professional through the Insurance Institute, and holds a Chartered Director designation from The Directors College.
